A little sweet. A little mouthy.

Hi, I’m Mercedes, the founder of Riot & Honey. I love a good trucker hat, and I have an unreasonable number of opinions about what makes one good.

The fit. The shape. The saying. If one thing feels off, I’m putting it back. Call it picky. I prefer “knowing what I like.”

Riot & Honey started because I couldn’t find what I was looking for. I wanted a hat that felt like something I would actually say, something I’d reach for without having to talk myself into liking it. After enough scrolling and thinking, “Who is buying these?” I decided to make my own.

Which is a fairly dramatic response to hat shopping, but here we are.

These designs mean a lot to me because they come from my own sense of humor, opinions, and everyday life. The things I say to my friends. The thoughts I probably should keep to myself. The moments when one look says everything, but a hat helps make sure the message lands.

I wanted to build a brand with room for all of that. You can be thoughtful and a little sarcastic. Love your people and need some peace and quiet. Be an absolute sweetheart with a very firm limit.

That’s where Riot & Honey comes from. I’ve got a soft side. I’ve also got opinions. Neither is going anywhere.

Every design starts with one question: Would I actually wear this? If the answer is “maybe,” it needs more work. I’m particular about what I put on my own head, and that’s the same energy I bring to this brand.
